(tr)uSDX nG — next Generation Firmware

The (tr)uSDX has a new firmware: nG — next Generation. A complete rewrite for the ATmega328P, not a patch on the old one. In this video I show what it does, where it stands, and how you update your radio straight from a web browser — no AVRdudess, no drivers, no command line.

Flashing in the browser The flasher runs in a normal browser tab and talks to the radio over WebSerial. It checks every HEX file before a single byte is written: wrong file, wrong device or an image that would overwrite the bootloader — the flash button stays locked and tells you why. Your calibration data in EEPROM survives the update, and you can always go back to the old firmware. What nG brings SSB and CW receive with AGC and switchable filters A calibration wizard: reference frequency, microphone, PA and SWR Transmit ALC — the old firmware had none improved CAT audio streaming for digital modes Calibration stored in EEPROM, kept across firmware changes
